HG Turf was founded by Ross Sutherland, a pioneer in Australia’s lawn industry. The family tradition continues today with two of Ross’ sons Hamish and Gavin guiding the business into the backyards of many Victorian homes.

HG Turf’s technology, innovation and superior quality enabled it to look beyond the home lawn market in 1999 when HG Turf supplied its patented stadium turf to the MCG. Following this success HG Turf won the contract to supply its turf to the 2000 Olympic Stadium (Stadium Australia) in Sydney and also the 2006 Commonwealth Games Stadium (MCG) in Melbourne.
