ANZ STADIUM - Brisbane (QLD)
In 2001, 2002 and 2003 ANZ Stadium hosted numerous athletic events, including the Goodwill Games, whilst continuing to host their key tenant the Brisbane Broncos (Rugby League). To accommodate rugby league inside the athletic track, turf needed to be laid over the track at either end of the rugby field. The turf had to be stable, ready for immediate play, and be of sufficient strength and integrity to withstand many movements.
Critically the turf needed to be installed and removed in limited time, facilitating back to back events in the Stadium. To meet the challenge, management engaged HG Turf. HG Turf established a turf nursery on site to facilitate the frequent and timely movements of turf. 2,000m² of Motz Stabilized Turf was grown and then moved in and out of the stadium on twelve occasions.
